The guardian body of the Canadian Bhutanese Society

The Apex Council serves as the highest governing body of CBS, entrusted with safeguarding our constitution and overseeing the work of the Board. Its membership reflects the full diversity of our community — one representative, chosen by consensus, from each distinct community and faith group within our membership — ensuring every voice has a seat at the table.

Beyond representation, the Council plays an active oversight role: reviewing the Board's programs and activities, recommending changes where needed, and holding the authority to amend the Society's bylaws and constitution. The Council meets jointly with the Board several times a year to guide the direction of CBS, led by a Chair and Vice-Chair, with the Society's Chairperson presiding over both bodies.
