Canadian Bhutanese Society observed the Community’s bi-annual meeting in Southern Alberta Ethnic Association Hall. It was held on Saturday the 23rd of June 2012. The meeting was attended by more than 50 family heads from the Community. Among many updates and announcements happening within the community, the group discussed issues like funeral expenses, Inclusion of Medicine Hat Bhutanese community to Lethbridge, Community Driver Education program,
charitable status of CBS, families moving into Lethbridge from other parts of Canada, Fund raising activities, Community soccer updates, Federal Immigration Minister’s visit to Lethbridge etc.
Canadian Bhutanese Society also received a donation of CAD 50,000(Fifty Thousand) towards building a Hindu Temple cum Community Center for the Bhutanese Community in Lethbridge. The meeting wrapped up with snacks and soft drinks as well as handing over ceremony of the checque for the donation amount from Hemlal Timsina and Family.
