CBS Games 2017 Opening Ceremony

Canadian Bhutanese Society once again invites all public and sports enthusiasts to the CBS Games 2017 Opening Ceremony which is going to be held at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Lethbridge Senior Citizen’s Organization (LSCO) located at 500 11 Street South, Lethbridge, AB. Badminton and Table Tennis games will also be held here in Gym Hall 1. The soccer games are scheduled to be held at Winston Churchill High School sports field located at 1605 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge.

Asian Heritage Day Event



Canadian Bhutanese Society participated in Asian Heritage Day today at Multicultural Center (Southern Alberta Ethnic Asociation Hall) in Lethbridge with food and the cultural performance by our children.

The board extends special “Thanks” Sunita Gurung, Sumiran Gurung, Sakil Adhikari, and Samuel Dahal for their exceptional cultural performance. The board also thanks the parents and other volunteers who helped our children represent Canadian Bhutanese Society at the event.

Volunteer Appreciation Event

Canadian Bhutanese Society (CBS) held its Volunteer Appreciation Event on last Sunday, April 30, 2017 to honor its community volunteers. The event was organized to celebrate National Volunteer Week. In the event, volunteers were awarded with certificates and refreshments.

CBS started this tradition of celebrating National Volunteer Week by organizing a yearly event.

Canadian Bhutanese Society is again presenting the screening of a Nepali Movie “Loot 2”. Please find the details in the poster and act fast coz the tickets are already selling quick.

Volunteer Nepali Instructor

Canadian Bhutanese Society Lethbridge is looking for two aspiring and dedicated Nepali Language Instructors to teach Nepali to the beginners of 6 to 10-year-olds. Curriculum and teaching resources will be made available as per the need. Classes are planned to start from April 2, 2017. One of the qualifications for the instructors is to have basic English language skills so they can understand and respond to children’s English vocabulary.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in serving the community and helping our children learn our language that helps preserve our language and develop literacy among our children. It is also an opportunity to use your hidden talents and skills. Our plan is to introduce higher level classes in future.

Canadian Bhutanese Society (CBS) congratulates all the newly elected board members and wishes them “Good Luck” through their two-year tenure. CBS hopes the new team will work for the best interest of the society and will have a fruitful tenure.

CBS also extends special thanks to the outgoing board members for their immense contribution leading the society forward and handing over their skills to the newly elected members.

Annual General Meeting

Canadian Bhutanese Society reminds all its members of the Annual General Meeting and Election of Board Members tomorrow, Sunday, January 8, 2017. The meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Multicultural Centre, 421 6 Avenue South, Lethbridge. All household is expected to send at least one member to attend this event.
