The official program began with Canadian National Anthem followed by lighting of lamp by Hemlal Timsina President of Canadian Bhutanese Society along with Pandit Madhu Sudan Dhakal. The program continued on with a traditional Dzongkha welcome dance by the children.
The festival gathering is an avenue where young people can come and show their talent as well as promote their culture. It is also an opportunity for some children to perform for the first time and learn from their elders.
